EDC Las Vegas 2026: The Complete Raver's Survival Guide

EDC Las Vegas 2026: The Complete Raver's Survival Guide

Everything you need for three nights under the electric sky, May 15-17, 2026.

There's nothing else quite like it. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway transforms into a glowing, hammering, fire-breathing wonderland for three nights in May, hundreds of thousands of people pour in from every corner of the planet, and somewhere around 2 a.m. on Saturday you find yourself hugging a stranger in a unicorn onesie while Above & Beyond plays a sunrise set you will absolutely never forget.

Electric Daisy Carnival is a marathon, not a sprint. EDC Las Vegas 2026 marks the festival's 30th anniversary, and Insomniac is going big. That's over 33 hours of festival across three back-to-back overnight shifts in the desert. If you treat it like a regular concert, you will get crushed. If you prep right, it'll be the best weekend of your year.

This guide is for ravers, by ravers. Old heads who've done eight EDCs and first-timers nervously buying their first pair of fluffies are both welcome here. Let's get you ready.

EDC Las Vegas 2026 Pre-Trip Checklist

A few things need to be sorted weeks ahead, not the night before. Get these out of the way and the rest of your prep gets way easier.

Tickets and wristband. GA, GA+, and VIP are the three tiers. Heads up that the 2026 festival is sold out at the time of writing, so if you don't have a ticket yet your best move is the official waitlist on the EDC site. Insomniac releases more inventory in waves and tickets pop up on the resale market, so check often. When you receive your wristband, register it through the wristband registration page on the EDC website to link contact information for emergencies and also make it easier to replace if lost.

ID. You need a valid government-issued photo ID. Expired IDs only work if you have DMV renewal paperwork to go with them. If yours is about to expire, renew now.

Lodging. The Strip is the obvious move and there are shuttles directly from a bunch of partner hotels. Camp EDC is the other vibe entirely, parked right next to the venue with daytime pool parties at the Oasis pool deck, wellness workshops, and a community feel that hits different. Pick one, then book yesterday because Vegas hotels in EDC week aren't cheap and they sell out.

Cash, debit, and digital wallets. EDC is a fully cashless event. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and standard cards all work. There are kiosks inside where you can load cash onto a prepaid card if you really need to, but plan to live off your phone and your card.

The lineup. Once it drops, sit down with the schedule and our EDC Las Vegas 2026 set-time planner and actually plan. Identify two or three must-see sets per night, then leave the rest open for wandering. Trying to catch every artist on your wishlist will have you sprinting between stages all weekend and missing the magic of just being there.

One bonus for 2026. As part of the 30th anniversary, Insomniac is throwing a free public World Party Parade down the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, May 14, the night before the festival. Art cars, marching bands, DJs, the works. If you're already in town for EDC Week (which runs May 13-19 with pool parties and club takeovers across the Strip), this is the move.

How to Get to EDC Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Official EDC Las Vegas shuttle bus from the Strip

The Speedway is about 18 to 20 miles northeast of the Strip, which sounds like a quick drive until you remember 170,000 people are all trying to get there at the same time. Plan your transport carefully because this single decision shapes how rough or smooth your festival week is.

Official EDC shuttles are the move for most people. They run on a dedicated route with police escort, drop you near the gates, and skip a lot of the parking lot chaos. Standard shuttles run from World Market Center, The Strat, Mid-Strip, and Rio. Premier shuttles from Virgin Hotels and other partners cost more but include expedited security entry. Buy your shuttle pass with your festival ticket if at all possible, they sell out.

Ride-share (Uber/Lyft) works in theory but in practice Vegas surge pricing at 5 a.m. is brutal and the official pickup zones at the Speedway are chaos. If you go this route, walk a few blocks away from the designated pickup zone after the festival to grab your ride faster.

Driving yourself is the cheapest option upfront and the most expensive in time. General parking is free, but tailgating, alcohol, and sleeping in cars are all prohibited, and the wait to exit the parking lot at sunrise routinely stretches to two or three hours.

Camp EDC eliminates the whole transport problem. You're already on-site. If you can swing the cost, especially with a group splitting a ShiftPod, it's the most efficient way to do EDC.

What to Bring to EDC Las Vegas: The Packing List

EDC has strict bag rules and security is full TSA-style, including pat-downs and shoe checks. You can bring a clear bag up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches, a small non-clear clutch up to 6 by 9 inches, or a hydration pack with no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment. Hydration packs must be completely empty when you walk through the gate. Fill them at the water stations inside.

Here's what actually goes in the bag:

  • Phone with a downloaded set-time schedule and a screenshot of your group meet-up plan
  • Portable charger (10,000 mAh or bigger) and the cable for it
  • ID and a card in a secure inner pocket
  • Earplugs with a high-fidelity rating, like Loop or Eargasm. Your ears at 50 will thank you
  • Lip balm because the desert will destroy you
  • Sunscreen for Friday's daylight gate hours and any pool party pre-game
  • Gum or mints
  • Bandana or dust mask. Wind kicks up dust at the Speedway and it gets in everything
  • A light jacket or hoodie (more on this below)
  • Tissues or a small pack of wipes
  • A handful of kandi to trade
  • Small first-aid stuff: bandaids, advil, electrolyte tablets

What to leave at home: glass anything, drones, laser pointers, professional cameras with detachable lenses, large backpacks, and anything sealed (drinks or food, even unopened). Also leave the irreplaceable jewelry. The Speedway is huge and dusty and you do not want to be hunting for a lost grandmother's ring at 4 a.m.

What to Wear to EDC Las Vegas

Festival totem at EDC Las Vegas

Here's the single biggest thing first-timers get wrong. It's a night festival in the desert. Daytime Vegas in May runs in the high 80s to low 90s. Nighttime at the Speedway typically drops into the low 60s by 3 a.m., and the desert wind can push it lower than that. You'll be sweating buckets at midnight and shivering at sunrise.

A typical EDC fit is your rave outfit (whatever makes you feel like the best version of yourself, fluffies, mesh, glitter, full kandi armor, you do you), plus:

  • Comfortable shoes you've already broken in. This is non-negotiable. Walking from kineticFIELD to neonGARDEN takes 15 to 20 minutes and you'll do that walk dozens of times. New shoes equal blisters by Saturday and a ruined Sunday. Bring shoes you know
  • A hoodie, flannel, or light jacket that you can tie around your waist when it's hot
  • A second pair of socks in your bag. Trust me on this one
  • Sunglasses for the daytime arrival on Friday and the morning ride back
  • A fanny pack or hydration pack that keeps your hands free for the dancing

Outfit-wise, EDC is one of the most expressive festivals on Earth. Go big. Coordinate with your crew if that's your thing. Use the daytime Friday gate hours to get clean photos before the dust gets you. And if you bring a totem, it can't be more than 10 feet tall, the pole has to be soft and lightweight (foam, PVC, or pool noodle, no metal), and it can't be thicker than an inch in diameter.

EDC Las Vegas Weather: What to Actually Expect

May in Vegas averages around 90°F daytime high and a 63°F overnight low, but those are city averages. The Speedway sits in open desert northeast of town, which means more wind and a sharper temperature drop after midnight. Plan for 90s in the late afternoon (gate hours on Friday), 70s through the early evening, 60s through the bulk of the festival, and possibly 50s with wind chill in the deep early morning hours when you're walking back to the shuttle. Rain is rare but not impossible, EDC runs rain or shine.

How to Stay Hydrated at EDC Las Vegas

Hydration pack and electrolyte tablets ready for EDC

Read this twice. Hydration at EDC is not optional and it's not something you do "when you feel thirsty." By the time you feel thirsty in the desert, you're already behind.

The rules of staying hydrated through three nights of dancing:

  • Drink water before you arrive. Pre-hydrate at the hotel. A liter in the hour before you head to the venue puts you ahead of the curve
  • Refill your hydration pack at every chance. Free water stations are scattered throughout the venue. Hit them constantly, not just when you're empty
  • Electrolytes matter as much as water. Plain water alone, in huge volumes, can actually mess you up. Bring electrolyte tablets (Liquid IV, LMNT, Nuun, whatever works) and add them to a refill once or twice a night. You're losing salt through sweat for ten hours straight and you need to replace it
  • Eat real food. Even if your appetite tanks. The food trucks at EDC are surprisingly good. Get something with carbs and salt every few hours
  • Pace your drinks if you're drinking alcohol. Alcohol plus desert heat plus 10 hours of dancing equals a very rough Saturday morning. One water for every drink, minimum
  • Watch your friends. PLUR is real. If someone in your crew is acting off, stops sweating, gets confused, or seems too hot or too cold, get them to a medical tent immediately. The medical staff at EDC are incredible and they are not there to get anyone in trouble. They're there to help. Don't hesitate

Sleep is the other half of this. You're flipping your schedule to vampire hours. Try to get a couple of nights of solid sleep before you fly in, and aim for at least six hours during the day between festival nights. The post-EDC crash is real and it hits harder if you arrive depleted.

EDC Las Vegas Stages and Festival Tips

kineticFIELD main stage at EDC Las Vegas

EDC Las Vegas is enormous. There are nine stages, dozens of art cars, art installations everywhere, carnival rides, and small hidden lounges tucked behind random corners. You will not see everything. Stop trying.

The best EDC nights are usually the ones where you have a couple of anchor sets and let the rest of the night surprise you. Wander. Catch an art car parade. Find the silent disco. Let a friend drag you to a stage you'd never have picked. Some of the best sets of your life will be ones you stumbled onto.

A quick map of the vibes:

  • kineticFIELD is the main stage. Big-room, trance, mainstage house, the headliners. Insane visuals, the giant owl, fireworks
  • circuitGROUNDS is the second-biggest stage with the wildest visuals at the festival. Lineup shifts year to year, bass one year, house and techno the next
  • neonGARDEN is the techno and tech-house haven if you want depth and groove, with Time Warp and Factory 93 takeovers in 2026
  • wasteLAND is hard dance and hardstyle. Heart rate matches BPM
  • bassPOD is the headbanger home for dubstep, drum & bass, and trap, hosted by Bassrush
  • cosmicMEADOW mixes it up with everything from Above & Beyond sunrise sets to surprise b2bs and a HARD-curated night
  • quantumVALLEY is the trance and progressive home, hosted by Dreamstate and Interstellar
  • stereoBLOOM and bionicJUNGLE round out the lineup with curated takeovers across house, UK garage, drum & bass, and beyond

Arrive early on Friday. Gates open at 5 p.m. for opening ceremonies and the venue is at its least crowded in that first hour. Walk around. Find your bearings. Know where the medical tents are. Pick a meet-up spot in case anyone's phone dies (and someone's phone will die).

EDC Las Vegas 2026 Headliners Worth Catching

The 30th anniversary lineup is stacked. Martin Garrix, Kaskade, John Summit, FISHER, and a special GRiZ b2b Wooli set are anchoring kineticFIELD. Hardwell returns to EDC for the first time since 2018. Charlotte de Witte makes her kineticFIELD debut after years of building a following at neonGARDEN and circuitGROUNDS. Trance fans get not one but two sunrise sets, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond, both at kineticFIELD. Tiësto headlines circuitGROUNDS. The Prodigy plays a HARD-hosted night at cosmicMEADOW alongside Underworld, which is a generational moment for anyone who came up on rave culture in the 90s. Peggy Gou lands at neonGARDEN. Sammy Virji brings the UK garage wave to circuitGROUNDS. Plan accordingly.

After the Festival: The Recovery

Sunday night ends Monday morning at 5:30 a.m. and you'll feel it. Plan a recovery day. Don't book a flight that lands you at work eight hours after gates close. The "post-rave depression" or "Tuesday blues" hits a lot of people and it's mostly biology, your brain coming down after three nights of sustained euphoria, motion, music, and not enough sleep.

What helps: water, real food, sunlight, a long shower, talking to your festival crew about your favorite moments, and going easy on yourself for a few days. The feels are part of the experience.

A Few Last Things

Bring more kandi than you think you need. Trade with strangers. Make eye contact. Say thank you to the staff. Help someone when they drop something. Compliment outfits. The whole thing only works because everyone agrees to make it work, and there's nothing else like the feeling of 170,000 people deciding together to be kind to each other for three nights under the lights.

Pack your bag tomorrow, not the morning of. Charge your charger. Drink your water. Get your sleep.

And then go give yourself to it. See you under the electric sky.
